Devoted followers of the pop star are urging that a individual who breached a barrier and touched the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside media personnel and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another message on Instagram.

A number of supporters also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of Singapore fans had waited to greet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had gathered in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the popular stage production Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two very different witches.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of the previous year in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, securing two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
