Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar and after recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

However it was positive to see that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they might plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and new running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad that wants to run first, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, being able to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and makes the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the area vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think Payton appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this path.

They excel at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
