Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
