Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
